Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Roller Coaster at Magic Kingdom Soft Opens (May 26, 2014)

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster at Magic Kingdom
As part of the 24 Hour Rock Your Disney Side event over the holiday weekend, the highly anticipated Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Roller Coaster was soft opened to the public. While it's not scheduled to be opened until May 28th, it ran much of the weekend. The wait on the 24 hour day, while long, constantly moved. We got in a line that said 75 minutes and was all the way wrapped around to the Dumbo entrance, and it only took about 40 minutes. On Sunday the 25th, the Mine Train was available to all guests on Fast Pass +, and it took it's toll on the standby line. While we were there, we noticed the standby line crawling, and unfortunately the majority of the queue is out in the hot sun.

The FastPass + queue is to the right, while the exit is to the left in this picture. You enter the mine and are almost immediately on the ride, with minimal wait.

The Dwarfs cottage is seen best when you exit the ride. On the opposite side of the cottage is a show scene that you stop in front of right before exiting the attraction.

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction has a height requirement of 38". Most 3 years olds are around that height, and our 3 year old enjoyed the attraction. The ride tops out at 28MPH, and puts it a step above The Great Goofini and below Big Thunder Mountain. The scenes inside the mine are fun to look at, as is the finale scene. The story isn't complete like the defunct Snow White's Scary Adventures attraction, but it is a fun attraction that can be enjoyed by nearly all ages.
